Market Day
This morning started early getting packed and ready for a street fair. My girls were very excited to spend the day with their cousin and Kyle and I were excited to have some time just the two of us. I loaded my pottery up and hit the road. The weather has been gloomy here in Wyoming mixed with a handful of storms the past couple weeks. I was expecting a rainy day and low attendance for an outdoor street fair. Before bed last night I prayed with my girls for good weather and a good market. That people would buy my pottery and God’s name would be glorified as I sold it. I prayed it would bring encouragement to those who needed it, and I would also be encouraged. Markets can leave me feeling a bit nervous and vulnerable as I put my feelings onto my pots and put scripture out there for some people to be very confused and not understand….
Not only was the weather perfect for us for the entire street fair, but it was also busy, and I sold the most to date in one setting. I was blessed with awesome conversations and was able to get a glimpse of some people’s stories. Clouds were moving in as it was getting close to pack up time and we got a few drops on us as we loaded the last of it into the car. Perfection.
All that made for a really great day, but the best part of my day was the support I had from my husband sitting next to me and my girls as I came home. They instantly asked how it went and if I sold a bunch of stuff. Their excitement for me was more than anything I could have hoped for and as I tucked them into bed and listened to their bedtime prayers, they thanked God for a good day with their cousin and a good day for me and pottery. Some days feel like I am doing nothing right as a mom, but tonight, as I listened to their heart and innocence and genuine gratefulness, I know I must be doing something right by the grace of God.
God answered my prayers from last night and I am going to bed feeling very encouraged and thankful that God delights in our little things as much as our big things. My prayer is that you would be encouraged also in your days and see God answering your prayers no matter how big or how small. Also trusting that if His answer is no or not yet, it is only because He has something better for you in His time.
Feel free to share with me some excitement you have had recently. It really is so fun to celebrate together. And if this is the opposite of what you are experiencing, please reach out and I would love to pray for you and with you. prettypleaseandmangotrees@gmail.com I would love to hear from you one way or another!
